This painting came to be after the discovery of my new favorite limited color palette, consisting of burnt umber, ultramarine blue, titanium white, and floral pink.

(I've thoroughly enjoyed mixing deep greens without any yellow. It feels a little like magic).

This series has been a challenge in painting all of the fun colors found within the most reflective color: white --hence my new focus on albino animals. I like how the pink, blue, and red shadows in these lambs make them vibrate with movement and dimension, but the striking light and composition make it feel like a fantasy or a spooky dream.

It has definitely added some cozy, curious whimsy to my home while it sits on my mantle.
